George Casson

About Me

I am a FREC 3 qualified medical operative and Community First Responder with experience providing patient care in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. My interest in pre-hospital care is driven by the responsibility and challenge of delivering calm, effective support at moments when people are at their most vulnerable.

Through my work in event medical services, I have gained hands-on experience assessing patients, supporting clinical decision-making, and working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and appropriate care. These environments have strengthened my ability to remain composed under pressure, communicate clearly, and adapt quickly to changing situations.

Alongside this, I volunteer as a Community First Responder, supporting emergency services within the local community. This role has reinforced the importance of teamwork, situational awareness, and professional conduct, as well as the value of continuous learning and reflective practice.

I am highly motivated to continue developing my clinical knowledge and practical skills, with a clear goal of progressing into a career in pre-hospital emergency care and paramedic science. I take pride in maintaining high standards, acting responsibly, and contributing positively to any team I am part of.

Outside of medical work, I have a strong interest in engineering-related activities, working on cars, and driving. These interests have helped develop my practical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and mechanical awareness, all of which I bring into my professional roles.

My Values

I approach every role with professionalism, responsibility, and integrity. I believe that people receiving care deserve to be treated with dignity, reassurance, and respect, regardless of the situation or environment. Remaining calm under pressure, communicating clearly, and working effectively as part of a team are values I prioritise in every setting.

Reliability and accountability are central to how I work. Whether supporting patients at events or volunteering within the community, I understand the importance of being dependable, following clinical guidance, and maintaining high standards at all times. I am committed to continuous improvement and reflective practice, recognising that learning is essential in pre-hospital and emergency care.

Why do I do it?

My motivation to work in pre-hospital care comes from the challenge and responsibility of supporting people during critical moments. I am drawn to roles where quick thinking, practical skills, and composure can make a meaningful difference to someone’s experience in an emergency situation.

Working in event medical environments and as a Community First Responder has reinforced my desire to pursue a career in emergency care. These roles have shown me the impact of timely intervention, teamwork, and clear communication, and have strengthened my commitment to progressing into paramedic science and frontline emergency services.

I find purpose in being prepared, capable, and trusted to help when it matters most, and I am driven to continue developing myself both professionally and personally within this field.
